Blocklr is the game that inspired Blockate.
Blocklr is a game on Roblox created by PlanarTheorem where you can build your own worlds using 4x4x4 stud-sized blocks. Players used the ingame currency "Blux" to get worlds, and items.
- Blocklr was created in 2014.
- Blocklr was going to have sequel, but it was cancelled due to Planar being busy.
Blocklr has since been closed by Roblox because it doesn't use the new text filtering system implemented by Roblox. The current description states:
They suspended Blocklr since the game doesn't use text filtering (for chat, world names, sign text, etc.) I can't fix this since I don't have time. NO, I will not give you this game. YES, you may try to recreate it. NO, I will not help you recreate it. Broken, suspended game I made when I was 13 lol. Don't expect me to come back and update this.
In April 2020, Blocklr was rewritten by fewkz and given to PlanarTheorem for the Blocklr fans group.
Blocklr's building system consists of 4 different options. Type, Shape, Material, and Color.
- Corner Wedge
Although slabs were a thing, you were only able to place them facing upwards, placing slabs sideways would cause them to glitch to the center of whatever block they're being placed on top of.
Egg Hunt[edit source]
During 2014 or 2015, there was an egg hunt in blocklr, It had a lot of eggs. The eggs were mostly retextures of Roblox hats by rookieo5 (now Adryin), a friend of PlanarTheorem.
- The currency in Blocklr, "Blux", shares a name with Blockate's currency. This was most likely done to pay tribute to the original game.
- The Elite Builder rank in Blockate is actually based off Elite Builder in Blocklr.
- Elite Builders in Blocklr got exclusive access to being able to build with the "Royal Purple" color.
Blockate Beta[edit source]
Blockate Beta is the beta verison of Blockate, which used to be friends only. You can play it right now by clicking here!
This verison of Blockate has the song Undertale - Goodnight playing in the hub. The hubs are limited to one max player only instead of sixteen. You can click the Japanese text at the bottom to start building in the hub. Say !create to create a world.
The worlds contain a sign welcoming you to your new Blockate Place on a lonely island. They also contain an Exclusive Super-Starter Ball 9000 which isn't seen in Blockate now. This world uses the old building UI instead of the current UI. The building and deletion animations are also different.
Blockate 2[edit source]
Blockate 2 was a project being worked on in 2018 all the way to 2019, it was supposed to have a new build tab to move stuff, more features (like resizing, etc), and more. Unfortunately, it was mysteriously cancelled with no announcement. No build of Blockate 2 has been leaked.
You can find the game here. (It's now private)
You can use the Suggestions page for inspiration for your game if you like. Link your Blockate remakes on Roblox here:

Blockate Survival[edit source]
Blockate Survival WIP is another game made by the Blockate group thats outside of blockate, it was not shut down with blockate. In Blockate Survival WIP you start on a white block and below that white block is a 4x1 transparent block, something impossible in normal blockate. The 4x1 transparent block also follows your players movements so you get a fly of sorts.
In it, Your in a world with randomly scattered land, C or V (buttons to show menu / perms) Dont work in this, neither does any commands or ctrl (build button). Also your character has super speed and super jump, the speed and jump sometimes allows you to clip through the platform.
Currently it is closed and only allowed for access to testers
Openate is a game created by Blockate. It's an uncopylocked barebones version of Blockate, created after fewkz left Roblox.
Wubby is a game created by Davidladmuta, a translator for Blockate. Although sharing many similarities with Blockate, Wubby is less fixed towards simplicity and more towards including as many features as possible.
- Before the game could be seen under the group's games page, it could be seen under the user Blockate's favorite games.
